Drive Force Academy offers endorsement training for Code 7 (House Trailer), Code 20 (Heavy Trailer), and Code 15 (Air Brake) — available now in Surrey BC.
Required to tow a fully-loaded recreational house trailer exceeding 4,600 kg gross vehicle weight (GVW) with a Class 4 or 5 licence. If your RV, 5th wheel, or toy hauler exceeds this weight when fully loaded, you legally need Code 7 before towing it on BC roads.
Any Class 4 or 5 licence holder who tows a recreational house trailer — such as a large RV, 5th wheel, toy hauler, or heavy camper trailer — with a fully-loaded weight exceeding 4,600 kg. If your trailer and vehicle combined exceed this at a weigh station, you can be stopped and fined on the spot.
To add Code 7 to your Class 4 or 5 licence you must: pass an ICBC recreational vehicle knowledge test, meet vision and medical standards, and pass a practical road test with your truck and trailer at ICBC. Drive Force Academy provides one-on-one training covering all ICBC-required aspects: driving, backing, coupling and uncoupling, and pre-trip checks.
Required to tow a non-recreational trailer exceeding 4,600 kg GVW with a Class 4 or 5 licence — where neither the trailer nor towing vehicle has air brakes. Covers boat trailers, horse trailers, flatdecks, and heavy utility trailers. A Code 20 also covers you for Code 7 — one endorsement, broader authority.
Any Class 4 or 5 licence holder towing a non-recreational trailer exceeding 4,600 kg GVW — boat trailers, horse trailers, heavy flatdecks, livestock trailers, and utility trailers. Also required for any commercial towing regardless of trailer weight.
To add Code 20 to your Class 4 or 5 licence you must:
One-on-one practical training covering everything ICBC will test — pre-trip inspection, backing with a heavy trailer, coupling and uncoupling, and road test preparation. Both Ravi and Sunny have operated heavy trailer combinations professionally and train you in real conditions, not a parking lot simulation.
Drive Force Academy provides the 7-hour Air Brake theory course required before your ICBC knowledge test. Both instructors hold Code 15 and have operated air-braked vehicles commercially for a combined 28+ years.
Book your Air Brake theory course with Drive Force Academy. We cover all ICBC requirements: air brake components, system operation, governor tests, low-air warning devices, and pre-trip inspection procedures.
After completing your theory course, write the Air Brake knowledge test at any ICBC Driver Licensing Office or designated ServiceBC location. 24 multiple-choice questions — 80% to pass.
Pass the hands-on air brake pre-trip inspection. Currently conducted at ICBC with an approved vehicle. Once Drive Force Academy's certification facility is approved, students will be able to complete this on-site with us.
Ravi and Sunny are not teaching endorsements from a manual. Both hold Code 15 Air Brake endorsements and Class 1 licences — meaning they operate air-braked commercial vehicles as part of their professional practice. Code 7 training is delivered with an actual trailer setup so you train in real conditions, not a parking lot simulation.
Both Ravi and Sunny are certified driving instructors holding Class 1 licences and Code 15 Air Brake endorsements.
